At the age of 18, he suffered a leg amputation due to a motorcycle accident that occurred in 1985. Before the accident, he was a professional dancer of Latin American dances paired with his sister.
The baptism of his long Paralympic sports career dates back to 1999 with the two bronzes won at the World Championships in Barcelona in long jump and pentathlon.
He has worn the “maglia azzurra” 19 times at the World, European and Paralympic Games since 1999.
Multi-decorated tricolor champion, he was national recordman in various Paralympic Athletics specialties: 100, 200, 400, discus throw, shot put. Today he is still a long-time, 800 and pentathlon Italian record holder.
Nobody better than him among the over 50 able-bodied. In 2018 he graduated as world champion master M50.
At the 2019 World Championships in Dubai, at 52, he achieves a seventh prominent place in one of the most competitive athletic specialties
