Yesterday afternoon the Committee 4.0, composed of the president of the Volleyball League Serie A women, Mauro Fabris; by the Lega Basket Serie A president, Umberto Gandini; by the president of the Lega Pro, Francesco Ghirelli; by the President of the Women’s Basketball League, Massimo Protani; by the President of the Serie A Volleyball League, Massimo Righi, was received by the Minister of Economy, Roberto Gualtieri.
The meeting discussed the economic measures necessary to face the crisis of the thousands of sports clubs prof. and amateurs, hard hit by the effects of Coronavirus, and to save the youthful activities to which the leagues perform. In particular, the 4.0 Committee stressed the need to approve the tax credit on sports sponsorships, a decisive tool for keeping the country’s sports and social fabric together. Minister Gualtieri said he was willing to consider the measure of the tax credit with great attention, considering the possibility of including it in the next provision that will follow the vote on Wednesday’s budget variance. In the coming days, contacts will follow with Francesca Buttara, head of institutional relations of Lega Pro, who managed the institutional work of the 4.0 Committee, and with the advisors of PwC TLS, Davide Rotondo and Paolo Lucarini, present at the meeting.
